FAQ

Are MBC Drone Services licensed to operate commercially?

Yes we have the required "Permissions for aerial work" granted by the CAA. All our remote pilots are certified for flying UAVs.

Are you fully insured?

Yes we have comprehensive public liability insurance cover for £2M If you require a higher level of liability insurance this can be arranged.

Can you fly in all weather conditions?

Our drones are rated to fly in winds upto 22MPH, and in light rain however we prefer to work in dry conditions as this provides the best results for photography.

How long can a single flight last?

Our drones can remain airborne for upto 28 minutes per battery, with sufficient planning this is usually enough time to get the shots required, however we do carry multiple batteries so longer assignmnets are not an issue.

What is the range of your Drones?

The CAA legislation allows us to fly at a maximum altitude of 400ft (122 Metres) and a maximum horizontal distance of 500Metres from the operator. We are also required to keep line of site of the drone at all times.

The actual technical range of our drones is upto 3 Miles this ensures that we are always flying well within the limits of the technology.

How much do you charge?

Due to the nature of the work it is not feasible to put a fixed price on an hourly basis, we therefore price every job on its complexities and requirements. We offer a free no obligation consultation with every enquiry this takes into account the legal and safety aspects of the job along with any additional permission we may require to complete the assignment.

How soon can i see the finished product?

As above all assignments are different, for a straightforward photographic survey the images can often be provided on the day with a report produced within 24 hours. More complex video assignments and 3D Modelling require time for post processing and timescales will be agreed prior to commencement of the assignment.

How does the process work?

Once we receive your initial enquiry we will contact you by phone to discuss the detailed requirements.

When we have all the details we carry out a risk assessment and pre-deployment survey free of charge. this allows us to provide you with a price for the work along with any restrictions/limitations that may be caused by our legal obligations.

Once instructed we will schedule the flight at the earliest opportunity taking into account weather, availability and access.

Whilst not essential we prefer the client to be available on the day of the shoot, this allows you to see the footage that is being taken and helps to ensure that you are satisfied with the end result.

After the shoot media will be delivered to you as per the agreement this could be via electronic transfer, or phsical medis such as a DVD or Memory stick.

Do I need to worry about the legal aspects of using drones?

MBC Drone Services carry out a full pre deployment survey which takes into account all the legal aspects of the shoot. Once you instruct us you can leave all the technical aspects to us a rest assured that we always operate within the law.
